Highlight: Trip Ideas for Portugal and Greece
Green list go to…
With Portugal going green on 17th May and welcoming British visitors, our destination of the week has to be Portugal with EasyJet, TUI and others adding more seats and flights in response to a significant demand.
Portugal has a pretty sweet flight time of 2 – 3 hours from the UK, depending on your exact route. Just enough time for a couple of in-flight vinos, speaking of, did you know Portugal has some amazing wine routes? Offering wineries, restaurants, wine bars, wine routes and modern wine spas with grape-based beauty treatments – hiccup.
If leaping feet-first into culinary culture is your idea of paradise then check out some of these immersive experiences from Port tasting in Porto to a crash course in Pastel de Nata in Lisbon.
The Champions League final is now set to be played in Porto too after being moved from Turkey due to COVID restrictions. However, if sharing the city with 12,000 City and Chelsea fans isn’t to your taste, Porto has plenty to offer for a lovely short trip as this guide shows (just avoid the 29th May!).
On our watch list…
Greece officially opened to foreign travel today!!! The photo on our About Us page was taken in Santorini last year so you’ll have to excuse the extra exclamation marks. We are excited 🥳
The Greek islands hope to be fully vaccinated by end of June with the aim to be green-listed and we really hope they do. Give us all the whites and blues.
If you are craving a Greek escape but don’t know where to start, we recommend this super helpful blog post to help choose your island – 10 Stunning Greek Islands (that aren’t Santorini or Mykonos).
